Makeup Bag Travel Essentials

Lately this year I started traveling more for work and I am loving it.  I have learned to really compact my luggage into just one backpack.  So as with anything I have to be very careful as to what I pack and make sure it has a purpose on my trip.  I have manage to learn to carry just the essentials for the amount of days I will be gone, including my makeup in my bag.

Concealer

This is the one makeup item that I can’t live without.  Besides hiding your under eye bags, it also serves as a eyelid base for your eye shadow.  This one from Yves Saint Laurent is super smooth and easy to blend.  Leaves my skin looking flawless.

Brows

Brows really give your face shape and it is important to find one that works with your makeup style.  This one from Milani gives me that natural brow.  It’s not too dark but still shades in my brow very naturally.  It is a powder form so it is easy to control and correct.

Shadow

Urban Decay is one of my favorites when it comes to eye shadow.  This quad is perfect for all occasions as you can get a natural look but at the same time if you like you can smoke it up a bit.  Perfect compact combination.

Compact Powder

I usually don’t like to carry liquid foundation so I always opt for a compact that is easily transferred to my purse for touch-ups on the go.

Lipstick

For this I like to carry two lipsticks, a red and pink(or sometimes a nude, depending on the occasion).  I sometimes will mix the two to get a different shade as well.  Red will always make any look glam.

Blush/Bronzer

Bronzer for me is more of a luxury when I travel but I do love the duo from Flower Beauty or E.L.F., that contains both blush and bronzer.  They are the best compact combination.

Mascara

This is a must for me as my lashes are almost non existent without mascara.  It really makes my eyes pop out even on days I don’t wear a lot of makeup.

Face Wipes

Most hotels have soap right, so usually I use the face wipes to remove all my makeup and then wash with soap.  Most face washes are more than the required TDC allowance so wipes are a good alternative to easy makeup removal.  These can be a bit heavy for a full package so these travel size packages are really convenient.

Now one last tip, if you are anything like me and have a million samples, use them for travel.  This is a great time to try something new and get rid of those samples.  Besides getting rid of them, they are easier to carry in your carry-on.  They are less heavy and less bulky than the full size bottles of makeup and product.

Fely

I always take red lipstick with me to pop up any outfit! I also like your idea of bringing samples because they’re small and you can just throw them out when your trip is over.

Very helpful post. I often do not carry all the things except a lipstick and come back home looking like an Anaemic.

I make sure to stuff my vanity kit with these essentials too. But, I can live with only four products, primer, lipstick, brow kit and foundation.

You are good to be able to pack all your items in one bag when traveling. I haven’t mastered that, yet I’m still working on that part. I will be using these tips for my next trip cause I can’t never make up mind on which makeup to take so I take it all. LOL

  19. Nutragena make up wipes are my favorite thing ever. They get all of the mascara off of my eyes without having to rub hard. I have them at home, in my office and in my travel bags as well!
