For those that know me know how much I love summer and it comes to no surprise that summer dresses are one of my favorites. There are so many cute summer dresses and if you buy the right one you can really use it more than just one way. Of course you can wear it by itself but have you ever tried layering or adding to it? I actually love being able to find items that I can use multiple ways because not only are you saving money but also saving our little universe by not buying more clothes. Remember your closet it full of possibilities.
For today’s post I collaborated with my friend Vanessa from Life Of Torres to show you some ways to style a summer dress. Don’t forget to check her out for her take on a summer dress. We decided to buy everything from one of our favorite stores Target, to make it easier for you to shop our looks.
The dress I picked out was a button down boho-chic maxi dress. I knew as soon as I saw it how easy this dress would be to style in many forms. It is now sold out but I picked out a similar dress that can give you these same options to style. The deep v top gives you the option to layer jewelry or wear a statement necklace like I choose to do. Either way this dress up your look a little bit more when wearing the dress by itself.
For my first look I added a simple white button-up from Universal Thread. This gives your dress more of a skirt look. These sandals are all over the place right now and go perfectly with this look. Not only are they on trend but they are so comfortable as well. This supper cute look I would wear to brunch with my friends or to a kids birthday party.
For my second look, I wanted to use this dress more as a cover-up. It looks so cute with your summer shorts. This is an amazing option as a mom who likes wearing short shorts, I feel like I have the freedom to bend down with out worry that I am showing more than I want from the back. Or sometimes we just want that extra layer if it is a little chilly in the mornings as it tends to be around where I live.
Get more use of your summer dresses and try one of these looks or find your own. Options and combinations are endless and fun to discover.
