Time Saving Tips & Rice Cake Snacks On The GO

Life gets so busy for all of us, we are always on the go, going here, going there, and sometimes we don’t snack on the best foods when we are on a time crunch.  At least for myself, I know it gets hard being a mommy at times when I have two girls pulling on my legs.  I am always on the lookout for quick & easy snacks to eat.  Lately I have been loving preparing rice cakes in different ways.  These are supper quick to prepare and you can basically add anything to them and they become a great healthy snack.

I would recommend purchasing the plain, no salt rice cakes because you can use them in so many more ways.  Today I want to share 3 of my favorite on the go rice cake recipes along with my top 3 tips on how to get a head start on your day.

Sweet: Peanut Butter

Ingredients:

  • Peanut Butter(almond butter)
  • Banana
  • Blueberries
  • Honey
  • Cinnamon

Spicy: Avocado

Ingredients:

  • Avocado
  • Cherry Tomato
  • Pepper Flakes
  • Basil

Smokey: Cream Cheese

Ingredients:

  • Cream Cheese
  • Smoked Salmon
  • Avocado

All these are so easy and quick to put together and at the same time it is a super healthy option.

Now we always complain on how we don’t have time to get up and make breakfast, or that we are always running late.  Honestly we don’t have to compromise our health if we follow these simple steps to get your day going on a good foot.  By doing this and starting your day right, will allow the rest of the day just to run more smoothly.

  1. Set your clothes out the day before.  This will avoid you scrambling, searching and ironing the day of.  That is one less thing you have to do in the morning.
  2. Do not press snooze on your alarm clock.  I know this can be the hardest of them all because we all want those 5 more minutes of sleep, right!  Trust me on this, once you get up and get in the shower, you will feel refreshed and awake.  Just train your mind to get up when that alarm first rings and if it helps place it across the room so it forces you to get up..
  3. The most important: get your mind in the right attitude.  Know what is important and set your mind to accomplish them.  Remember you are the only one that can make your own dreams come true.  Create a routine that works for you so you know exactly what you have planed for that day.  This will give you a guide to get things done on a timely manner.  You will seriously feel so much more accomplished at the end of the day.

These are great. My favorite is the smoked salmon. As for waking up, I am a snoozer, so I set my alarm 30 minutes early and that enables me to get up at 5.

  11. I love avocado. I gotta have avocado every single day!
I love your tips of not hitting snooze and to have the right frame of mind! There’s a psychological trigger that happens when you hit snooze that goes beyond the mere fact of wasting time. Kudos!

This is such a wonderful idea. Rice cakes surprisingly make wonderful replacements for bread! I’m going to have to try the peanut butter one.
