This is my experience and all opinions are my own.
This past weekend I was able to attend the We All Grow Summit in Long Beach, at Hotel Maya, thanks to We All Grow Latina. First and for most I would like to thank We All Grow Latina Network for allowing me to attend this magical experience. I could tell this conference was like no other from the begining, the organization, the heart that radiated from every corner. Great job chicas!
This was actually my first time attending We All Grow, and it was an experience I’ll never forget. Everyone was super friendly from the staff to the attendees. It almost seem like we knew each other for years even though we had just met. The theme of Energy of Sisterhood was truly felt throughout the conference as we cried, laughed, and danced together like sisters. That is one of the many benefits of going to conferences like We All Grow, you meet friendships that could last a life time.
On day one of the Summit, I was able to attend a field trip sponsored by Red Bull. I really didn’t know what to expect so I went in with an open mind(not to mention, Red Bull brings back college memories, if you know what I mean). As we arrived we were greeted with a nice healthy breakfast, which I really enjoyed that early in the morning. Followed by a presentation and open discussion by Red Bull, where we learned a little more about their products and tried some of their new flavors, which I totally loved the sugar free Lime and Purple Edition. After that they took us to the Red Bull Gym where only athletes are able to work out of. So that was an exciting treat we got to experience. Not only did we workout but we were instructed by an Olympian coach. Say What! Was I sore the next day, you may be asking…YES…for days! From there we had a yummy lunch and given a tour of their offices. Let me tell you, it would be a dream to work in that environment. It was a great experience and treat from Red Bull and We All Grow to be picked to attend this trip.
The next two days were the actual conference part, were we had speakers, breakout sessions, and sponsor suits we got to visit too. There was so much to do, that every minute was so precious. I have to say as much as I love learning in the breakout sessions, the speakers are the ones that really hit home to me. Each one of them has such an inspirational story and message that you honestly cant leave not feeling inspired and motivated. Honestly, I felt like I really, really needed to hear that. As I was at a point where I just wanted to throw the towel in and give up. But oh boy, how my mind changed after hearing some of their stories. I cried a couple times, laughed, and by the end I was ready to give it my all again. “Si se puede!” I thought to myself!
This summit really makes you reflect on so many things from your blog, your priorities, to your personal life. Those doubts I had in my head are now gone thanks to the many wonderful inspiring women that I was able to cross paths with. It was so uplifting, encouraging, and they honestly made me believe in me again. I always found excuses as to why I could do this or that; I’m a full time mom, I don’t have the tools, I don’t have the time, I’m getting too old for this, etc. On that first day I came home and did some deep reflection and found myself just making excuse after excuse of why I couldn’t do something. Then I remember having a conversation with a beautiful soul I met earlier and thought to myself, instead of making excuses, start doing, start trying and stop feeling sorry for yourself(for reasons beyond my control; I’ll get into details one day). If these powerful women can do it, so can I. They have just worked so hard to get to where they are and I know I have what I need to get there one day. So yes, I am Mommy 100% of my time, I have snot and spit on my clothes most of the time, my hair is a mess, and a 5 minute shower is a blessing but I love it…it’s all a balance. I will continue to work on myself and I can’t promise to be perfect but be damn sure I’ll always try my best. This will be the year I step out of my comfort zone and start believing in what I have worked so hard to build.
I can go on and on but it was truly a magical moment I’ll never forget. From meeting new people, PR representatives to sharing this experience with my partner in crime Betzy from MyLatinaJourney. Funny thing is that I met her through a conference we both attended a few years back and have been friends ever since. So yes, you will meet amazing inspiring women that will forever change your life by encouraging one another.
Thanks once again to We All Grow, job well done and I will see you next year!
