We all need a place to concentrate and focus for many reasons, we work form home, need to do homework, have a hobby or any other reason. My little space is one that needs to inspire me and help me be the most productive as possible. Here are some ways to help you achieve that space for yourself.
Space: set a designated space to work from. This will help set your mind to know that when you are in that space, you mean business. Finding the right desk and chair will give you that set of mind as well.
Lighting: Lighting is key. This will set the mood for your work environment. You want the right amount of light to be able to see what you are working on. Placing your desk close to a window will bring in that natural light that will help boost your mood in the right direction. So a good desk lamp or what I prefer natural lighting will help bring in focus to your work and keep you awake all day.
Decorate/Style Walls: I love looking up at my walls and feeling inspired. You can put up quotes, pictures, cork board, anything that will make it look pleasing.
Clean/organized area: try to keep this area clean and clutter free. I cannot work with a messy desk, it creates distraction and it is hard to concentrate with too many things around. Use some organization containers, or bins to store things such as pens, paper, and trinkets. This will not only make your space more organized but you can also use those containers to decorate your area.
Decorations: Although not necessary, it really makes a difference for me. My work place also provides me with inspiration so my decorations reflect some of the things I love. Plus it will make it look so much more chic and glam. I especially love flowers. They really give that sense of home, comfort and are proven to reduce stress.
So what ever you make your space, just make sure it pleases you and allows you to be productive above all. It is your creative space and an expression of your creativity. Also, if you work out of a cubicle, try incorporating some of these tips to make you feel more at home.
